Hi, does anyone here shoot 243 caliber 70 grain Nosler varmageddon tipped in a 1:14 barrel?

If so do they stabilize okay?

Based on the calculator, the 70 gr bullet is probably too long to stabilize in a 1 in 14" twist. Even the 55 gr Ballistic Tip would be marginal at 3600 fps. Based on the chart, the 55 gr Varmageddon HP would probably be the best bet. Too bad, as the 70 gr Varmageddon shoots lights out in my 1 in 9.25" twist Stevens .243 Win with Ramshot Big Game.

Remington 700 BDL and ADL, Model 7 and 600............70 gr Nosler BT shot great.
Have no idea what the twist of those bbls was.
I stuffed em on top of max charges of 4350. Some blast off those shorter bbls, but accuracy was great and they worked wonderfully on chucks.
No exit 50-350 yards unless I shot them through the throat. Proly just fragments kicking dust up even then.

Sierra's blitzkings and hp lightweight offerings are just a wee bit stubbier than the nosler pills, might be worth running through the calculator? Might check out the Hornady lineup too, they tend to have a bit more bearing surface as well, good luck!
@Hookeye the Remington models USED to be a bit slower, I haven't measured twist in my buddy's 788, but it would keyhole fusions at 25 yds. I think it's probably a 10 twist though, it'll stabilize the lightweight btips just fine, gonna try hp gamekings, partitions, and ssts, and see if I can get her to spit something deer worthy. The current production rem twist on a .243 is 1:9 1/8".
