As per title, about 5-6 years ago I noticed that old trusty wouldn't hold shells in the magazine. What happens is either during ejection or when closing the chamber, another shell will fall out of the magazine into the inner housing. Both problems cause the gun to jamb. The only way to UN-jamb is to unscrew the magazine cap, dislodge the spring and let the spring and all shells eject out the magazine head. It's a great way to screw around, waste time and miss opportunities for game.

I've tried many things short of sending it back to Remington. Is there a worn part at the end of the magazine where the magazine follower stops - that also stops the shells from falling out, and maybe it is worn? Does anyone have any ideas and is this something that I can do myself with the right parts, etc.?

Thanks

Newer trigger groups have the flexitab modification to the shell lifter that makes that malfunction comically easy to clear: rack the weapon.

You can also check out the action bars where they engage the two shell catches. If those are overly worn or damaged, they could release the shells at the wrong time.

Wonder how much Remington would charge to clean it up and make it new?
