That's about what I paid for mine - $650 + tax. I traded in my SR9 Compact Plus $350 for the SR1911...so I like to lie to myself and say I bought it for #350 
I've got 1000 rounds through mine and I couldn't be happier. I was a little leery because like any new gun, there's bound to be some bugs to work out. a year and a half later, I have yet to find anything disappointing about the gun. It's basic, American made, and has a permanent home right next to my bed. You won’t be disappointed - I promise.
Oh, and when they come out with a commander size version, I'm all over it. Ruger BETTER come through for me! Haha!
