I just picked up a box of Hornady 75g bullets and will be loading them for my Savage 223 bolt action which has a 1:9 twist. I intend to use both H335 and BL(C)-2. Anyone have any experience with 75g bullets in this combination?

Mugsie: 75 gr 22 caliber bullets were designed to shoot and stabilize in the faster twist barrels from 1/7 to your 1/9 barrel. You should get fine accuracy from your Savage in the 1/9 barrel. From experience you would get very poor accuracy with the heavier bullets in a slower twist like a 1/12 which were designed for the 55 gr bullet. Your selection of powders are good ones, and if you have the chance, try Hodgdon's Varget also. Your bullet weight shoots excellently in my AR15 with a 1/7 barrel btw.

I have a Savage 10FP and Stevens 200, both 223's with a 1:9 twist, and have had good results with the following:

Sierra 65g Gameking - 25.8g BL-C(2)
Sierra 69g OTM - 25.8g BL-C(2)
Sierra 77g OTM - 24.5g BL-C(2)

I have had no problems with these loads in my rifles, but use "caution" and work up slowly.

You might also check out Hodgdons site at http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load_1.asp

These also work well in my CZ 527 Kevlar

Good luck.
