if someone could sanity check/provide feedback on the combo i'd appreciate it.

IMR data says max load 23.2g, hornady 22.8 is max load.

I intend to load some up at 2.25" in LC brass with CCI400 primers.

21g start and increase slowly up to 23g and stop, picking the best group.

it is an AR15, 16" with a 1-7 Daniel Defense barrel.

does anyone have any pet loads? i want to be able to load some accurate ammo in my LNL AP so good metering powder is preferred. i have a little cfe223, IMR 4895, 4064, Varget and 8208xbr on the shelf right now. hoping to settle on a a good 223 powder so i can buy a jug or two this fall.

thanks

i would use rem 7&1/2 or cci 41s or federal primers. dont know how hard cci 400s are. may be good i dont know. my colt m4 shoots 23.3 gr 8208 half inch. with 69 matchking. 55gr fmj's h322 in the 6's.sierra 60 gr h.p. 8208 less than half inch. these are in cases that dont have alot of slop in chamber fit. more like sized for a bolt gun. fed 205 primers in all loads. my gun is stock except for a national match trigger. you just have to see whats best for your rifle. hope this helps. the only time this rifle failed to function is when i started low with my loads and pressure was too low.

Phil,

Thanks for the info, the main reason i wanted to ask was the load data variation out there for this powder, i plan on loading a few and shooting them this week

Although I don't have my book in front of me at the moment I seem to remember seeing this powder listed for both 223 and 556 loads. I have also heard many guys say their best groups came at or very near max with this powder and I think it may be because of the discrepancy in load data, ie these guys are using the more conservative data.
