I have some Nosler 120 gr and 140 gr Ballistic tips, CCI large rifle primers, and some new brass... Which powder? H4350 or Varget?

I'd like some other recipes than what are listed in the Lee Modern Reloading manual please...

Thanks!! :)

Thanks, just an FYI, I'm still a n00b at this reloading thing, and am just looking for ideas. I appreciate the tips, and will try them out. I know that what works in your rifle, could very well not work as well in mine. (Even if we both had the very same rifle make and model.)

I'm hoping to get feedback on the Nosler bullets I got. They we're on sale and I grabbed a couple boxes. Good, bad, indifferent... :scrutiny: I'm also looking at the CT Silver tips in 150 gr.

I figure the 120's should work out well for light loads for my son, who recently decided he waned to do some shooting and als for varmint type loads. The 140's for Deer and whatnot.

Also looking for other powder options. According to the Lee book, H4350 is a good choice for 7mm-08.

Thanks again...

Go to www.hodgdon.com and look in the freebie info section. You should be able to find H4350 and Varget listed for the 7-08.

FWIW, I use H4350 in my .260 Remington and occassionally in some really accurate .30-06 loads. Never had a problem with it and any rounds that don't go where they're pointed are shooter-error. I use Varget in my heavy-bullet .223 and the results are the same. No excuse for a 9 in a string of 10s!

42.4 grs of 4064 with 150Gr Seirra PSPBT, makes just under MOA in my Win Compact Classic 70.

For what it's worth, I've had excellent results with IMR 4064 and both Sieirra and Speer 140 gr. SPBT's in my 7mm-08 (a Savage). I really like the 4064 in a lot of applications....308, 7mm-08, and .375 H&H Mag loads. Versitile powder.
