Here's what I have:

Hornaday spire 130G bullets
Federal brass
Winchester primers
IMR-4350 powder.

I cant find any data for hornaday bullets on their website. Where should I start with the IMR-4350? Thanks.

I shot a 7x57 Ackley Imp. and used 52 gr. I'd start out at 45 and work up until you get the best group. I also used it with 140 gr. bullets not 130 gr. so you should be able to go up close to 50 gr.

This is a suggestion. Watch for signs of excess pressure like flattened primers.

Are you shure of that 130 gr part? I see 120 gr. and 139 gr. listed in my book. Checking on line I see the same...but no 130. No answer forthcoming from here until we have that cleared up.

First of all is this a modern firearm or a mil-surplus unit. I'm not sure what woul be safe in some of the mil surplus stuff. I used to shoot a 7x57 Ruger M-77 back years ago with 130 gr speer spitzers but I used a starting load of H4350 at 50 grns. I should think a starting charge in the mid 40's would be safe with the IMR4350 and the 130 hornady pill. I was trying to find my 1970 speer manual. If I do i'll post some of the good recipies I had back then.

You won't find data on their website because they have a reloading manual for sale.

IMR has load data for various bullets, but as mentioned, it makes a difference on whether it is a newer gun or older milsurp

Thank you for the clarification...it's better to err on the side of caution. Your typo could have gone either way. ;) That said My Hornady 4th ed. shows for your bullet:

Case: Win
Primer: Fed 210
Powder : IMR 4350
Charge Min: 46.7
Max: 53.0

Even with your changes in components (Brass and Primers) a starting point of 46.5 should be fine.

Cross referenced to my Speer manual and a 145 gr. bullet, their range is 45.0-49.0 They used R-P brass and CCI 200 primers.
