Hi there,

I'm a great fan of 870's, they are all i shoot. I have seen a Classic Trap NIB at the gunshop it has the gold motif on the side, Could someone tell me if all the CT's have this now?

Thanks

Kelem. I noticed that Wall-Mart stores has both the 870 and the 1100 classic trap and they both have that gold on the reciever. That is one reason I picked up a used 1100 classic trap at a gun show as I did like the look of the gold. It is stll engraved but not in gold. I picked up a 1100 almost new for half the price. The one thing I may have to change is the monto carlo stock it seem a little to high for me. No problem as I can always sell the monto carlo on e-bay.

I think they all do. I don't like the gold thing, it doesn't integrate with the design.

There's a mess of letter grade trap 870s out there. Go get a couple....

I think the new "Classics" also have the L shaped key locking system. I am not fond of the gold paint inlay or the lock.

For trap I too use an 870, but I like the "Competition" Trap models. Great guns and will last a lifetime.

Also some of the older 870's and 1100's have the best factory wood I have seen on target guns.

I dont shoot much trap or skeet mostly sporting.
The CT is probably a bit high shooting but very nice all the same, guns tend to get banged up a bit on the sporting ranges around here so i will stick to the Express i have.
