I personally have this for my 870 for use of predator hunting ,but this has the HD strobe light that would for sure screw up the vision of your target at close quarters. It also has a pretty universal mount that even mounts on ribbed barrels, although this may not mean much to your police barrel. I love this light and comes in 3 different colors.

I have nothing against your shotgun. Good for you if you had a good deal.

From what I heard at the local sporting goods store, the recall on those was related to the rust inhibitor used to protect the new shotguns from factory for long time storage. It supposedly caused dangerous malfunctions. If you have thoroughly cleaned it with appropriate guncare products, as it should be done with any new to you firearm, from what I heard, it should be okay.

To stay on topic, when going full tactical, I think less is more. Less barrel is more manoeuvrability, less weight is more rapidity, less gadgets is more reliability. And of course, more is better, as in more practice makes one a better shooter!
