Hey guys

I got all kinds of sand in my 870. so I went to take it down and found i needed to take the trigger assembly apart. I got it all exept i cant figure out how the heck to get the action lock to come of. can some one help?
also anyone know where some detailed instructions for reassembly might be on the internet? ive got a feeling that might take 5 times longer then taking it apart....
thanks in advance

The action lock IS NON REMOVABLE. DON'T TAKE IT OUT.

The action lock is riveted in place and it requires breaking the riveted washer off.
This often ruins the parts so we usually figured on just replacing it if it had to come out.

To clean, even getting sand out, it's almost never necessary to remove the assembly.

Many years ago, I 'discovered' kerosene, for cleaning a trigger group on a shotgun.

You need two items.
1. A coffee can
2. Kerosene

Place trigger group in coffee can.
Pour in enough kerosene to cover HALF of the trigger group.
Put lid on coffee can.

Shake.

Remove trigger group from coffee can and place into clean, dry rags (or an OLD towel).

Dry, compressed air is good for removing any remaining kerosene.

Lube with CLP or your favorite lube.

You can substitute the coffee can for larger Zip-Lock Bags, if you wish. They work just as well.
