Hello,

I have done some searching but have not found what I am looking for.

I have a M48 mauser and I want to use cast bullets. I have the Lee 175 grain bullet mold. I only have IMR 4064 for powder. I would like some load data please.

Thank you,

Heath

There is a reason you haven't found what you want. You should be using a pistol powder (Unique or similar) or IMR 4759 for you cast bullet loads. IMR 4064 is a powder for full powder, jacketed loads. It can be used, but it is position sensitive and is tricky to use. Do your your cast bullets have a gas check?

As per the post above, a useful load density of 4064 is going to push a cast bullet at velocities that require really advanced skills. Or, you can paper patch that 175 gr bullet (patch to throat diameter) and use 4064 at lower end jacketed load data.

Never try to just find a load for what you have on hand.
I know times are tough, and finding or affording powders may not be easy.
But stick with the Current and popular data availabe.
I too load for the 8mm with the Lee 175 and a NOE 216 SP GC
I am using mostly 18 to 20 grains of 2400
I also use 5744, IMR-4198, H-4895, SR-4759
And for plinking close range loads, Unique, and things like Green Dot.
I recently gave an 8mm to a friend, and he is too playing with some cast loads.
