My lyman reloading book says I should use a rem 9 1/2 for primer and a large rifle for primer size. This is for a .308 . Is there a conversion chart somewhere for primers to match. Can I just use a standard Large rifle, not being the 9 1/2? Thanks

Yes. The .308 uses large rifle size primers.

Remingtons 9 1/2 is a large rifle primer.

Remingtons 9 1/2 M is a large rifle magnum primer. Same size, more priming compound.:)

I've used the Rem 9-1/2. And the Winchester Large Rifle, old styles and current. And CCI.

They all work, and I don't see any difference in group size from one to another, or mixed.
