90 Grain .309 in .30 M1 or Blackhawk??

Hi You all!

I was wondering about the hornady 90 grain .309 hp bullets?

I have a .30M1 and also a Blackhawk .30M1 and I was wondering if these are too big to be useable in those guns?

I was reading the reviews on Midway USA for the bullet and several people mentioned using it in both guns with great success and several claimed it did not work for them. Anybody had any experience using it in either gun??

Should work fine. Work up your load for each gun, each gun is different. I haven't used that bullet but have used the older 88 FMJ 309 bullets years ago and they worked great with #2400.

Thanks does anybody know if there is a reloading manual with this bullet for .30 M1 in it or have a load to share?

I don't have any loading data for you, but it only takes a few hundred PSI for the 309 bullet to be forced down to a 308 size. Work up your loads and you should be fine. Best loading data I could find wa 85 grain loads at www.reloadersnest.com
