Is it true that on a SKS if you install a T6 stock you are in violation of 922(r)?
Even if you install a Weaver style receiver scope mount? :banghead:

If you change the stock, you have to play the 10 parts or less game. Here's Rifletech's compliance parts page and a meatier discussion. Some people count the disconnectors as two parts, because there are two disconnectors. And there is not universal agreement about whether the stock fixed 10 round magazine counts as two parts or three, as the floorplate is integral to the magazine body.

Pistol grips are nonsporting. So yes, you would be in violation. Depending on the model of SKS, you have to then begin replacing parts (and if a Yugo 59/66, you also need to be removing a few other items too; there's a wealth of info on it out there).

If you plan to take an SKS and mod it into a cheaper AK, just get an AK- you'll be spending just as much by the time you finish and you may not retain the reliability (you'll have slightly better accuracy, but not by leaps and bounds).
