I recently acquired a 243 sporter with a GEW 98 Mauser. This unit has the original trigger (I think) and the trigger comes down in the middle of the trigger guard and is not easy to reach/pull - I HATE IT. All my other 98 sporters have the trigger further back toward the rear of the trigger guard, which I prefer. I have provided pictures of the 243 (GEW98 action and stock trigger) as well as my 270 (Karab 98B) with what I believe is a Timney adjustable trigger (no markings anywhere). These pictures show the differences in the triggers. Basically, the Tinmey is set back further than the stock trigger.
I see that Brownells has the Timney sportsman which looks very similar to the trigger on my .270 as shown in pictures. My question is: Will the timney sportsman on this link fit in my 243 with the GEW action? http://www.brownells.com/rifle-part...-specs-for-fits-sku883100298-13130-31670.aspx
At the above URL, there are 2 options:
The one I believe I want:
883-100-298WB
M98-FN-SP Trigger, see specs for fits
Mfr Part: 101
And the one specifically for a GEW action:
883-100-398WB
M98-K-SP Trigger fits Mauser 98K Gew Military
Mfr Part: 102
Although I "think" that the 98's are universal, I wanted to be sure before I order the trigger. Thanks guys...
