Hi everybody,

Has anyone ever load a Winchester 115g 9mm FMJ bullet with Alliant's American Select ?

I found a 5.4G charge on Alliant reload charts (web) but there were neither min-max range and only one bullet... a Speer 115G GDHP.

Does anybody ever shot Cam-Pro CMJ bullets ?

Thanks

The previous manual showed 5.2 grains max of Am select as max with a 115 JHP at 32,800 psi/1135 fps. I would start 4.7 and work up from there.

Good luck.

No I have not. Unless I am shooting my own cast bullets, I usually will not use this "fast" of a propellant with jacketed bullets in 9mm. Not saying there is anything wrong with it, and on the bright side this powder should fill the case very well.

Thanks a lot, I'll try it tomorrow

I use to load .357 & 38spl with BlueDot & 231 respectively and for my new 9mm I wanted a clean powder and they were out of HS-6.. so they suggest me this one.

700X, N320, N330, N340, SR 4756, AA #5, will all be very clean in 9MM.

American Select is very clean in low pressure stuff, so it should be very clean in 9MM, if not a bit fast for it.

N330, N340, SR 4756 & AA #5 are very good for full loads with plated or jacketed.

700X and N320 are great for light loads with plated or jacketed.

700X is very good with lead and the 9MM, as is W-231.

I've shot A.S. in .45 and found it just dandy there but if memory serves, it tends to fill a 9MM case to the point is tends to spill out when a progressive's shellplate rotates. I don't have my notes handy to say for sure but it is a very "fluffy" powder...
