I just picked up 2000 rounds of Norinco 9mm for $160. The cases are brass, and they aren't magnetic. Berdan (sp?) primed, but I don't reload so it doesn't matter reguardless. It says it is non-corrosive.

Did I do good? or did I buy a bunch of junk?

I don't think so for the price. However I'm not knowageable on Norinco brand ammo.

I usually can find wolf for about $100 per thousand rounds. I am not fimilair with Norinco ammo, but I would say you got a pretty good deal.

cyanide,

Without knowing anything about that ammo, I'd say you got a good deal. The best deal that i can regularly find on 9mm ammo is 80 bucks per 1000 for CCI Blazer at Academy. I've never found a better deal anywhere on new factory ammo, so if the ammo is decent then yes, it's a good deal.

It sounds like a good deal to me.I
shot 300rds of norinco 9mm thru a
9VE sigma with no problems. It was
accurate enough with no failues.

For any brand its sounds like a deal.

If you could, shoot several hundred rounds and give us a range report. I never knew they made ammo.

Thanks!

I just looked at some of that same stuff at a gun show, with the usual 2000% gun show price increase, priced at $11 a box. :what: Sounds like you got a good price. I'd still clean as if they were corrosive, just to be sure. Better safe than sorry. ;)

Yes, I would say so, if you can get 1000 Rd's, for under $100, with brass cases, is a good deal to me.

Bought some for $2.50/box of 50 called Geco....heard of them? Got it when Gaylans turned into a Dicks.....

I would have bought it at that price. I have shot a moderate amount of Norinco ammo in various calibers and it always seemed ok. I personally would shoot this ammo through a beater gun like a 9mm chambered Toakrev and keep it out of my Sig Sauers just to be on the safe side. Rather wreck a $125 dollar gun than a $700 dollar one.

ive shot norinco 9 thru glocks its about par to white box.the stuff i shot wasnt corrosive and was boxer primed tho when i reloaded it it seemed to work harden faster than comparable stuff.its pretty much as clean as other stuff.id say you did good happy shooting.

It comes out to the same as blazer on sale at Academy .

Norinco ammo has been ok for me.

I think you meant "for sale" rather than "on sale" as it's the regular price.

What I meant was regular price at academy is $4.99 per box and the sale price is $3.99 which is the same at the Norinco price when broken down.

Sorry for not being clear.

I shot some Norinco 9mm ammo about 10 years ago. It was decent ammo.
I had a couple of cases of their .45 too.
All of it that I fired was boxer primed and reloaded well.

Geco is a part of RWS and makes GREAT ammo.

So where is this "Academy" place?

TN
TX
OK
AL
AR
LA
FL

Doesn't look like there are any in Indiana but most discount sporting chains have similar deals.

i picked up some Remington UMC 9mm for $5.38 a box today...i'm pretty happy about that...
