I want to load...
9mm...
bullets i have...
Berrys....124gr...Swaged Plated FP....

I use Titegroup for 45ACP and to keep it simple, I want to use the same for 9mm.
I cant find any load data for the Plated FP but i have found plenty of data on many other bullet configurations.....I have looked on Hodgdon web site and in my Lee Loading book.
Anyone have any load data for that bullet???

Thank You

Loaded thousands using the Berrys 124 RN and titegroup.

My favorite is 124 RN, 4.2 grains and OAL of 1.155. FP would be a little shorter. Something between 1.125 and 1.145 would be about right depending on your firearm and how it feeds. Work the load up and see what's best.

From the Berry's website FAQ

*How do I load Berry's Preferred Plated Bullets?
Plated bullets occupy a position between cast bullets and jacketed bullets. They are soft lead, but have a hard outer shell on them. When loading plated bullets we have found best results using low- to mid-range jacketed data in the load manual. You must use data for a bullet that has the same weight and profile as the one you are loading. Do not exceed mid-range loads. Do not use magnum loads.

*How fast can I shoot these bullets?
Velocities depend on the caliber, but as a rule of thumb, we recommend you don't shoot our plated bullets over 1200 feet-per-second. Our 44's actually shoot best around 1150 fps. 45's are generally good at 850-900 fps. Our bullets are not recommended for magnum velocities.

I use about 4.2 grains for both 125 Lead in 9mm and 230 gr Lead in 45acp.
It just makes life easier.

I've got quite a bit of other powders laying around (not titegroup), and I"m thinking those are going to be using those for shotgun only from here on out. Titegroup is the only way to go, it's cheap, clean and you can use the same charge between 45 and 9mm. it also meters pretty good.

Check out Hodgdon's mission statement if you want to fall in love with a powder company. I won't buy anything but hodgdon from here on out...varget is great rifle, titegroup great pistol, titewad great for shotgun...there's just none better for the price.

Seems like 4.2 gr Titegroup is the consensus. I tried 4.2 and 4.7 with X-treme 124 gr RN plated bullets. The 4.2 grain load was more accurate.

WOW....Thank You all for the info. According to what everyone has said, I am right on track. I just wanted to see what everyone else did before I just stared loading away.

DAVINCI..............

My Lee load book suggest 4.8 as a starting load for 45acp. Is it safe to shoot a load that is that much lighter than suggested?

Dont get me wrong, I would love to keep as simple as i possibly can and if I dont have to change my powder load that would be great.
