Found about 100 9mm brass casings in the desert, freshly shot, that had an unknown to me headstamp: 2 stars that are separated by a bar and then the 9mm Luger wording. Don't have the camera available.

What brand casing is this? OK to reload? Thanks.

Now RW that was quick! And I should've figured that out: Star & Line. Thanks for your reply!

It's incredible what people just leave; like 125+ rounds of once-fired 7mm Remington Magnum cases. Just sitting there.

From one guy...

...in one session.

Go figure; how much did THAT cost?

That's what surprised me. One goes through all the "trouble" (trouble=fun) to reload and then leaves their brass.

I kind of assumed that some commercial loads use Starline, as the 20 or so pieces of 10mm I have found at the range were all Starline. Couldn't believe anyone would reload it and then leave their brass.

Please keep in mind, if a reloader left it laying, then they don't think it's safe to reload any more.

Stay safe my friends.

Staying safe is good advice. Assuming why a reloader might have left brass on the ground is an assumption not based on any information available to any of us. I'm a reloader, and I've left brass on the ground, simply because I was in a hurry to go somewhere or just didn't want to pick the brass up. Unless the brass is cracked or bulged, how would a reloader have a clue as to whether it's safe to reload or not??

Recently I found 60 7.62 x 39 Winchester cases at the range, all seem to be once-fired by the primers which look exactly like the new Winchester I have. THANK YOU whoever left it. Sometimes you just get lucky.

The brass I picked up looked "as new" or else it had spent 24 hours in a tumbler. Anytime I pick up range/desert brass I definitely eyeball it.
