Does anyone make a CCO-pattern 1911 (Commander slide on Officer frame) in 9mm, other than Fusion? I'd love to have one of theirs but I can't justify the purchase price
Hmmm... You're right it ain't cheap, but it's better than the Fusion at $1500+. I'm hoping for a true Commander-style slide-and-barrell assembly though, with a bushing etc.
I doubt it exists frankly but I figured I'd ask. I'll keep hoping
I'm curious in an academic way, so I'll bump this to the top in hopes of an actual knowledgeable answer - but you're getting so far away from the "real 1911" that I'd be surprised to see anything but custom prices.
Aren't .38super and 9x19 guns an easy swap? Just barrel and mag, I think, the slide's breechface and the ejector are close enough. Maybe a .38super CCO would be an easier place to start?
Actually the 9mm. conversion works fine with the .38 Super ejector, but not the other way around. Everything else is correct: 9mm. barrel assembly and magazine are all you need to make the conversion on a .38 Super pistol.
However, I fear that finding a .38 Super CCO isn't going to be any easier than finding a 9mm CCO... and the added expense of the barrel and mags won't help either.
Dan Wesson CCO is a a great value at about $1200 NIB. Solid build and nicely finished. You can find them used for around $1000 sometimes but they do not last long.
Other than that I cannot think of a sub $1300 9mm CCO.
If you can live with a Commader length grip or can live with a shorter barrel the new STI Spartan IV & III could be options.
Same boat. I have wanted a 9mm CCO or Officer's for years but can't justify the cost as I would never carry it. I'd always carry my .45 ACP Springer CCO.
