I have a bunch of Missouri .356 Diameter 9mm Parabellum 115 Grain RN I would like to pull. In looking around I've read to use a RCBS 30 cal collet puller. Great, I have one. Won't grab a one.
I don't want to go with my kinetic puller. Any ideas.

collet style pullers will wreck a lead bullet.

Your only option is to use the hammer (kinetic) type

Ya, I know, not fun. RCBS or the Quinetics brand.

If you dont mind trashing the bullets(you can always re cast them later down the road), there are two simple methods which are very quick.

1) slip a short piece of pvc over your press ram, grip the bullets with a pair of cutters and use your press to pull the bullets.

2) remove your decapping pin, and simply run all the rounds through your sizing die. This will squeeze the bullet down a few thousandths and you can simply pull the bullet out with your fingers

Due to the size of the bullet, I have always used a kinetic puller for 9MM. It takes some time to do a large amount but all componets are reuseable.

If you want to try and reuse the bullets then the kinetic puller is the only way to do it. Put an old foam earplug in the bottom to cushion bullet from damage.

The collet type puller works well for a bullet that has enough of a flattened side wall so it can get a grip. Generally rifle bullets have a good enough surface to grip and pull. Most handgun rounds do not though. The pliers trick works if you do not care to reuse the bullets. I try to strive for not needing to pull any bullets in the first place.:)

Won't grab a one because it's too small? A RCBS 30 cal collet puller will be for .308" bullets.
"...Ya, I know, not fun..." Is too. Bash it on a rock vs anything else.

Wasn't what I wanted to hear. But maybe I needed to. Thanks.
May I suggest the RCBS kinetic puller. It has a plug of padding that the pulled bullet lands on. Less bullet damage.

I have a Franklin Arsenal puller that I have used for a few years. Then lately, I started getting a heavy gouge (even with padding stuffed in the bottom of the cavity) on the corner of bullet's butt. Bought the RCBS, and much less damage, and it takes less whacks to free the bullet.

Thanks all. While starting this project yesterday I broke the RCBS puller. Hoping my Frankfurt holds up better later today.

RCBS will replace the broken kinetic hammer. Call them up. You may have to mail it to them, at least I had to, but others haven't.
I may call them, I think this may be the second one I broke. One of the reasons I love the collet puller.

It is several tap tap tap tap, not smash smash smash.:D

Try it on a thin section of indoor outdoor carpet on a concrete floor or on the end of a piece of 4x4 wood post. They do not work well on a work or reloading bench to much rebound or something.
