Why haven't there been more modern guns chambered for this round? I just got my Star Model A in 9MM Largo, and it's FUN to shoot. Big muzzle flash, light recoil. This is a flat shooting cartridge.

Any idea why Spain seemed to be the only military that stuck to this round for as long as it did?

9mm Largo, 38 ACP ( not super) = Same performance. The question is , why did they stick with it so long when the rest of world was going with more versatile cartridge, the 9MM Para. Reason they stuck with it, same reason the French stuck with the .32 French long. Who really knows?

Why did the USA stick with the .45 ACP for so long after the civilized nations of Europe went to 9mm P?
Same reason, they were used to it, liked it, and had a lot of money sunk in guns, ammo, and manufacturing plants for both.

The only places I know of offhand that much used 9mm Largo were Spain and Denmark (under the original designation of 9mm Bergman-Bayard.)
