I can't seem to find any load data in the Lee reloading manual on:
9mmx19mm
lead 115grain bullet
Unique powder

There is data however for 125 grain lead and Unique powder.

They suggest starting at 5.3 grains and 1.15 OAL

I've heard that using load data for a heavier bullet would be ok. Does the above load data sound right or does anyone else use 115 grain lead bullet and unique powder in 9mmx19mm

In my experience with 115 lead and unique, that is too much propellant, at least to start. Not that it is unsafe, but I would start with 4.5 grains, maybe a tad less, and go from there. Cast bullets can be tricky because of so many variables inherent to them, and it's also hard to say what a proper OAL would be unless we know the bullet brand/style you are using.

According to my single caliber reloading booklet the range for a 115g lead bullet using Unique is as follows:

Unique 115g lead COL .997 4.5g 1,025 fps at 22,200 cup to 5.7g 1,210 at 31,500 cup.

That being stated, my experience is that you want a load only strong enough to fully cycle your gun AND provide the accuracy you want. Since we don't know the ogive or meplat of your bullet (curve of the nose and the shape of the nose) giving you any more advice is not wise.

I agree with others that you should start low and experiment with your loads. Make a few and try them, make a few more and try them. Watch for leading, primer distortion, etc. One of the most fun parts of reloading is customizing loads for your gun. You can wring the last little bit of performance out of one by enjoying your time in the reloading mode.

I'm using 4gr Unique under 125gr cast. It doesn't cause leading, and it's spunky enough (should be just under 1000fps) to cycle the actions reliably on all my 9mms.

I've shot this load in my fullsize and compact M&Ps, 92Fs, CZ75Bs, Sig P6, Sig P226, and so forth - all with good success.

I am using the coated lead bullets from precision. They are the 115 grain Flat points

Looking at the bullet they show for that weight, it has a rather long full diameter section with a short nose. I would think an OAL of 1.095", and probably less would work well. Would not go under 1.050", as I don't think it needed unless you have a very short throated barrel.

Only real way to determine Ideal OAL with that bullet is to load a few long (say 1.10") drop them into the chamber and see how they fit. Willing to bet though, that 1.080" or so will be just peachy, just make sure the bullet does not jam into the leade and shoot for the longest you can reasonably go to assure good functioning and in spec pressures... At least this has always worked for me, and many others I have dealt with.
