Hello All,

I interested in the Millennium Pro, only the 9mm version. Does Taurus have this model right ? Who is actually using, shooting/ccw this pistol ? If you do
or have owned this model should I pass or buy ?

Thanks,

John

I have the non-pro PT111 9mm and 45ACP PT145. I think they are good guns for the price and pretty small & light for 10+1 capacity (12+1 for the 9mm Pro now)

I think the DAO trigger is pretty good as far as these things go, but the one on my PT145 is noticibley better than what's on my PT111 so it seems they do vary.

In terms of size-weight-capacity-price your only other real choices are a Kel-Tec P11 (cheapest of the lot & its main virtue IMHO) or Beretta 9000S (if you can stand the width, but on the plus side it'll do cocked and locked) or CZ RAMI if you can take a some extra weight and about $100 more price.

If DAO is a requirement then PT111 and P11 are your choices, or the DAO version of the Beretta 9000. I think the trigger on my PT111 is better than the DA pull on my 9000S, but the 9000S cocked and locked is much better.

I've not shot mine a tremendous amount but have had zero problems. Handled Wolf ball, Silver Bear 145gr JHP and Speer Gold Dot 124 gr +P JHP without issues.

Thanks wally, I did try the trigger on the 9mm Pro model. It was fine. I'm used
to less than perfect (read:S/A) trigger pulls. My 40VE trigger is also fine. I can hit very well with it, double taps, whatever just like any other gun. I also
cannot force a malfunction. I've tried.
Even with the negative press I had hoped some actual owners of the 9mm Pro
would tell me about thier use of this pistol, just the Millennium Pro in 9mm.
Sometimes if we try long enough and hard enough we can get it right - even
Taurus ?

Best,

John

I spent a lot of time looking for a compact 9mm and the taurus came up. My first gun was a taurus PT92 which has alwas served me well so i took a long look at the PT111...and ended up buying a Glock 26. Same capacity, small size, lighter, better trigger, not appreciably more expensive.

I think Glock's trigger is worse than the PT111 unless you put the 3.5 lb connector in it -- and then its not clear its safe to carry.

I'd like to know where you are that Glocks are "not appreciably more expensive". I see the Millineums for $280-340 new all the time. Glocks don't get much below $450 new anywhere I've seen. This is only a little more than the CZ RAMI so I guess I should have mentioned it.
