I'm somewhat new to the handgun thing and I've got a glock 19 and then a Smith and Wesson M&P 9L pro series for competitions. I like to take video and pictures at the matches, and use M193 whenever I shoot the 5.56 in hopes of getting some muzzle flash on video. I'd saw some 9mm NATO in the store today and it seems to be the same idea as the M193, 10% hotter (from the box) compared to the regular stuff. The S&W manual mentions that +P can alter the wear characteristics of guns, particularly their pre-1958 revolvers. For the M&P 9L, are there downsides to using it exclusively? Anyone know what kind of life reduction I'd be in store for? Thanks.

I would not even worry about it. I have a S&W M&P in 357 Sig (same frame) that runs at even higher pressure than the 9mm NATO.
