I think the flat nose is needed in 147 gr to meet OAL. I've seen some 124 gr NATO spec ammo loaded to 1250 fps with flat nose bullets in the past but this is the 1st 115 gr flat nose I've seen. I have no idea if the military is looking at changing 9mm ammo, but wouldn't be surprised to see them go with 147 gr now that the FBI has.

Learned something new, I always thought soft point, or jhp were prohibited by the Hague Convention. Well, they are actually...but only between two countries that have signed onto the convention (so does not apply to uninformed combatants or rogue militias) AND...the US never ratified that article of the convention http://avalon.law.yale.edu/19th_century/dec99-03.asp

I hope they make darn sure it works in everything 9mm "in the system". I'm sure there's plenty A363 (Winchester Ranger) in stocks to last for a LONG time, so it will be a while before our guys and gals in green get this, unless of course there is some significant advantage in terminal performance, which may get it shipped to overseas deployments. The M855 "green tip" was supposedly replaced a few years ago, and my friends are still firing it very steadily stateside from both rifles and MG's. If you want to know the truth, rounds like some of the older 308 match ammo and even M193 is still "out there".
