Quick question on reloading 9mm pistol Rounds. I was going to order up some 9mm bullets and extreme bullets has 124 grain round nose copper plated.

http://www.xtremebullets.com/9mm-124-RN-p/xc9mm-124rn-b0500.htm

However, when I look up the charge data on the hodgson site, there is only one powder for that bullet weight. However, there are plenty of options for 125 grain bullets.

I need to order powder too, and with the current situation, ill take what powder I can get. So the question is, is one grain in bullet weight that big a difference?

Can I load a 124 grain bullet with 125 grain data safely?

Of course finding powder and primers will be a whole other issue.

Thanks in advance

1 grain in bullet weight is no difference.

The type of bullet construction, and exact bullet shape has more effect on pressure then few grains weight difference.

You can also use the 125 Sierra FMJ data on Hodgdon's website with that bullet.
That gives you 12 different powder choices.

Just never start at the MAX load with anything.

Start low with the Starting load & OAL and work up as you always should.

Wow, that was fast. Thanks.
Yes, start small. Got that.
Thanks rcmodel.

Now the question is, who has powder and primers!

If you are needing to order powder and primers, try to find a company that will combine shipping. Otherwise you will have to pay two hazmat fees.

I have loaded and shot about 2000 extreme 124 gr. I love them. They aren't to expensive and for target loads seem to shoot real well out of my Glocks and Sigs.

What powder do you favor.
W231/HP-38 is a very good powder choice for the 9mm and works very well with plated bullets.

Since powder is very hard to find right now you can also use AA#5, Unique, Powder Pistol, Universal, HS-6, Longshot, WSF, AutoComp, PB, Red Dot, Green Dot, Silhouette, Zip and probably a bunch more I just didn't think of right now. Luckily the 9mm isn't a very picky cartridge and a wide range of powders will produce good ammo.

For higher-end loads, I like Power Pistol and Silhouette. For moderate loads I like Red Dot, AutoComp and 700x. Two of my 9s really dislike light loads, so I don't typically load light. Have fun, stay safe.

Try Natchezss.com for primers. Just received 5,000 various sizes (Fed &CCI).
No powder available, but it is my understanding they will ship under one $27.50 haz mat regardless of the order.
