9mm Speer Gold Dot ammo question...

Hi all,

I am researching 9mm personal defense ammo. I have found two different versions of the 9mm Speer Gold Dot 124gr. +P HP ammo. One says it's for short barrels, and the other, I assume, is for standard barrels.

Well, I called Speer and asked them what they consider a "short barrel". They said it's a fine line, but they tested their 9mm short barrel ammo in a 3.5" barrel, and the standard ammo with a 4" barrel.

Does anyone use the short barrel version?

I use the gold dot short barrel in my XD 9mm sub comp and like it. I've never gel tested it or anything but it cycles well and shoots plenty acurate.
