I like to try out new guns and much as I would like to try before I buy, I often can't and end up reselling most of them since they didn't strike my fancy in some way shape or form. I almost always sell at or above value because I fortunately research the hell out of most of the firearms I buy.

I'm thinking this one might stick around longer than most :)

With only hours in my possession, I haven't had the opportunity to fire it yet but I can compare it to the marlin I used to own. In some ways this feels like an overall sturdier lever, but the lockup on the marlin 336 is a bit stiffer with the 464 having a bit of 'mush'. Hard to describe. Being 16.25 inches, the balance on his particular rifle is very nice, though I guess that's something you won't see on the average 464.

The marlins eject shells with a bit more authority as opposed to the Mossy kind of just flopping out. The rebounding hammer feels a bit weird in the dry fires as you can sense it reverberate. I assume I won't even notice in live fire, however. Believe it or not, I actually like the tang safety better, though I might replace the plastic with something else.

I'll try to get a range report in some time. Not bad for $450 :)

Looks beautiful, I'd get one of those nice leather cuffs though :) It would go with the whole look better.

Now you're just trying to run me into the poor house. All that leather bling is $$$!
Some better pics now that I've had time to fondle it :)
