you texans better be careful,,,

with all your interesting laws down there, you might just aquire another yankee,,,

but i was told connecticut ones were "ok"

:D

i don't know,

i think if a person was pursuing me or in the commision of a crime and i pulled

if that person immediately changes their mind and stops

i probably wouldn't shoot

defering to the people with more experience,,,

is this a bad way to think?

Clarify and Apology

When I posted this:
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/cgi-...LO_DOC_TEXT=YES
It was to give the statute. That WAS NOT the question.
I know darn well people in TX, especially those with CHL, know the law.

Smoke and others I apologize.

I too would like to see /read the minutes where someone shoots to save a rooster...must be some rooster.

Just because a statute is written doesn't mean a jury will vote that way. Just because its a statute doesn't mean go out and 'test it'.

Again I apologize for any confusion, mis-lead info, and for not reading the question correctly in the first place.

Hey Chet, welcome to a fellow Oregonian.

I've been a CHL carrier in Oregon for a lot of years with no problem. I have been pulled over for a traffic violation just once and the cop knew I was a CHL holder when he ran my license. Not a problem. He wanted to talk guns some, but that was a pleasure.

If you pull your gun you better be ready to shoot - it is that serious. To use the gun as a deterrent is brandishing and will get you in big trouble. There are a variety of great classes you can take in preparation for getting your CHL. Ask at Northwest Armory or Kieth's gun shop in Gresham and they can help you make contact with a good instructor. Ask a lot of questions. Good shooting;)

Not a lawyer, just a lowly TX CHL instructor chimin' in here ... In general, if the gun comes out, there better good cause for someone gettin' shot - whether they are or not.
