A Couple Of Black Powder Guns

I have added pins to 2 of my cylinders Soldered them in with low temp. solder, caution solder flux can remove blueing.

I'm not that worried about it. Its not like I am going to carry it. This is a range toy for me. And i could do the Mike Bellivue trick and just load 5 and rest the hammer on an empty chamber. And I sold the 44 brass frame gun. But thanks for the idea. A single pin might not be a bad idea in itself if I wanted to carry it loaded out in the field.

Thanks 45 Dragoon
I get it now the Philips head slot I see in the picture is where it "broke through" when you sanded it down. That is what had me confused.

I sold the 1860 brass 44 to another poster here and kept the 36 Navy. I just ordered 200 Hornady balls and a Lee bullet mold from Midsouth Shooters Supply. The bullet mold was the same price as Midway but the balls were $3 a box cheaper than Midway. I saw the same thing when I bought Hornady 240gr jacketed bullets from Academy and they were several dollars a box cheaper than Midway. It pays to shop around. Use to be you couldn't beat Midways prices.

Insert a small washer into the barrel lug, drive the wedge in, if the cylinder locks up either try a thicker washer or add one and check the barrel to cylinder gap. If 2 is too much you can stone one down until you get the gap you're looking for. Once that is determined grease the arbor, clean the barrel hole good with degreaser, JB weld the washers in the hole and assemble the barrel to the frame and drive the wedge in firmly. Let it set up, should be good to go.
Doesn’t the JB weld add to the thickness?
