A couple reloading questions? (noob)

AECD:

So you're saying that they give load data for pushing lead bullets at high speed, but they really wish you wouldn't follow their load data. Huh?

You make a lot of generalizations that aren't true. Be careful young man!
Steve,
Please tell me where I said any of that? I wasn't going to post again but I really want to know what you are talking about?

BTW, thank you but I'm anything but young. (also, it's AACD, not AECD)

Rainier Lead safe bullets are copper plated, on the Rainer site it says to use the load data.

What I ment by my original question is: Does anyone else shoot rainier lead safe bullets and do you also use lead bullet data?

Just to clarify things I do use lead bullet load data for my rainiers.

I was not tyring to start a debate about pushing lead bullets at magnum speeds.

AGCD: I thought you were through with this thread?

You have repeated your warning against pushing lead bullets to "magnum speeds" at least 3 times now. Do you have memory troubles too?

"Since you shouldn't push Lead bullets to Magnum speeds you can't expect load data for them. "

"Like I said before, powder manufacturers don't recommend pushing Lead bullets (or bullets you are supposed to treat like Lead according to Rainier) to Magnum speeds. Since that's true why would anyone post load data to contradict that fact?"

"I'm not debating whether or not you should push Lead bullets to Magnum speeds. All I said was, it's not recommended."

Not sure where the comments warning against lead running at 'magnum' velocities come from, but unless 'magnum' velocities are faster than about 2100 fps, I can tell you from first hand, BTDT, read the book, saw the movie, did the chick - twice, got several t-shirts, it isn't a problem.

Where does this stuff come from ? I mean really, how does that kinda crap get started ?

Shooters have been sending lead down range as fast as possible for over 100 years.

For real.

... and I would venture a guess, somewhere into the tens (maybe hundreds) of millions of 158gr LSWC's have been sent outbound at 1300fps + in .357 Magnums over the last 70 years or so with Herco and Bullseye.
