Hey all,
Recently I've been getting a little disenchanted with my Glock 21. It shoots well, is reliable, and has that incredible 13+1 capacity in .45. At the same time, it just doesn't feel like anything but a piece of poly an metal in my hand.
That being said, I've been offered a 4 Inch Colt Trooper Mark III in trade. It's about 90% give or take. Is it a good trade?
Glock 21 SF with Ghost Rocket connector, tritium sights, holster, dual mag carrier, and 3 mags for a 70s Colt Trooper Mark III, 1 speed loader, and 50 rounds of .357.
Thanks.

I don't know if the value of the 2 guns is anywhere near equal and I'm sure someone who knows will come along soon, but I do know if it were me I'd take a loss trading an easily replaceable Glock for a Colt wheelgun.

In my area, your Glock would go for $500-$550, and the Colt would be $450-$500. The Colt's value is really affected by the condition and the presence of factory grips and the box.

That being said, even if the Colt is in 90% condition it will hold greater value than the Glock moving forward. Plus if you're disenchanted with the Glock, the Trooper is a safe way to get out from under it.

I own 6 Glocks

And since that is so,I would gladly trade for a wheel gun that is no longer in production AND as well made as the Trooper.

If you have NO use for the wheel gun, then do not do the trade.

If the Colt checked out (see the revolver section) I go for a Colt no longer made to the Glock. And the Glock 21 is my favorite Glock.

I did it. Got a 1969 model with little wear and a SMOOTH trigger. This is one of the nicest shooters I've come across.
Thanks for the input guys!

and has that incredible 13+1 capacity in .45

FNP-45 holds 15 +1. 15>13 ;) And it has nicer lines IMO.

I'd take the Colt man.

Glocks are common enough that they should start putting them in the drop claw game at movie theaters..... You know, the ones where you would get a lead filled teddy bear from China that you hand to your girlfriend in hopes of trading it for a little action. Ah, to be a teenager again....

Look dad! I got a Glock 21 out of that machine!!!! Can I take it in the movie?!!!!

Oh, and I see you made the trade. Good work man. Congrats.

Good deal! I would have made that trade as I had a Trooper many years ago but traded it off for a SIG P-226 when I got bit by the semi-auto craze.

I have heard the Trooper series referred to as "the poor man's Python". From the pics it appears you got a good one. Personally the Glock in any model just doesn't feel right in my hands and I would have made the deal as well. In my opinion you did very well.
