Nice group of guns.Off to the range with you.:D We want juicy details.:what::) Magazine gun writers have all those models in their articles this month and last. Like them too and the reasons why.

There's a Taurus Porn thread at Taurus Armed.net that those would look nice in as far as the pictures go.

The joke got started and became a thread. At the old Taurus Forum.com hackers got a hold of the site and filled it with X rated material. There was no oversight nor were there any moderators at the time. The old sight became defunct as the members there warned the owner of what had happened and he pulled the plug.
Flyer at the Taurus forum set us up in a new house.

nice 441,the only problem I'm running into is I've been getting so many great carry guns lately( just got CCW in feb) I don't know what to carry.

As I live in Wisconsin, the head dictator...or governor and legislators, know what's best for us gun culture people; no carry period. :banghead:

Their reasoning is we'd all get lickerd up in the local saloons and begin shooting the beejeebers out of each other. :cuss: :barf:

So, I wish I had your problem trying to decide which short barrel revolver to carry today.

It would be the Taurus 441 model with two extra 5-shot speed loaders in front pockets. ;)

Great choice, I like. Unfortunately, I have to disagree on something. ANY weekend is a good weekend to buy a Taurus revolver. :D

range report

first up 4 3/4" gaucho its a little smoother than the 5 1/2" with 158 LSWC home brewed at ~900 fps at 15 yards its about 2" left and nice group.the 5 1/2" gaucho has a little hitch in the cylinder rotation and a couple times when slowly brought to full cock it does not lock quite right.no problem when you cock it like you mean it.I'll get it apart and see if anythings out of sorts.anyway it groups right on top of its shorter brother.the 1st target was shot at 10 yards 5 shots out of each gun.last but not least the 431. smooth trigger this is one sweet shooter.shot some 165 corbon didn't like them had too much flash. anyway 44 special should be big and slow.shot some fed 200grn LSWCHP and speer 200grn golddot blazers.I liked these better.I'm either going to stick with the golddots or load 240 hornady LSWCHP at 850fps. the second target is 10 yards 5 rounds each of feds and speers all shot DA.If I can get the timing fixed on the 5 1/2 inch gaucho they're all keepers.

Good stuff from the 431. I like that revolver.

My favorite "big ammo maker" .44 Special round is the CCI Blazer with the 200 gr Gold Dot in aluminum cases. Accurate. Cheaper than the brass-cased Speer version and a little spicier. You'll see it clocked around 850-900 fps. Never had a problem with it in my S&W 629.

If you're going to carry that .44 Special for SD but better ammo than Blazer. Blazer is cheap but for a good reason. I wouldn't trust my life on Blazer ammo. You will be much better off with almost anything else.

If several hundred rounds of the defense load picked, fit and function correctly in the revolver, there is no reason not to go with it. This, provided that decent combat accuracy is also acceptable for that particular load is part of the package.

There is one caveat. There have been documented cases(pardon the pun) where extractors had problems engaging the rim or hangups were caused by aluminum cased ammo. It's not that often, but it can happen. Just enough to be wary of it.

I have real speer golddots for carry, big brother said they shoot to same point of aim as the blazers.and its never had a malfunction with any ammo any time.

Nah. I'd agree, if the question were using Blazer ball ammo in a semi-auto pistol. I strongly disagree here. The .44 Special Blazer is good accurate ammo. It's made by the same company (CCI/Speer). I've shot hundreds of rounds of it in my S&W without the slightest problem. It launches exactly the same (excellent) 200 gr Gold Dot bullet as the nickel-cased Speer brand round. And it launches it faster than the Speer!

In .44 Special, the Blazer is actually the better load IMO. Except that you don't get reloadable brass from it.

Mavracer, I hope it was cooler on Sunday than it was Saturday...I was at that show Saturday morning and it was really warm in the building. The hot conditions, however did not prevent my finding a Ruger Blackhawk for a reasonable price...

no it was hot as H&().

I like the way the nickle cases eject but have you chronoed them Speer lists them at the same velocity.I might carry blazers in the speed loader.

Sounds like a deal! I just can't get into the fixed sight cowboy gun thing, but I do like the traditional look. I use my Blackhawks for field use and hunting, so I sorta like adjustable sights. One of these days, I'm going to get me a neat lookin' Colt clone, though. 300 bucks is a STEAL on a Gaucho!
