No science was used in this testing.
This is done with the 149g FMJBT Privi and the 174g SMK. right out of the gate I knew I had not used enough 4064 in the Privi load. The drop was 4" at 100 yards and 4' at 300 yards. This was also my first outing with the nny Privi brass.
1st. the SMK with IMR4064 in Lapua brass.
This is load I have used for years and the brass has over ten reloads. I lost count after that. It shoots in all my Mosin rifles so it never changes.
2ed. The .310" 150g Privi. The weight covers almost 1.9g after checking ten bullets. OAL on each bullet will differ .004"~.007" so quality control is not in the Sierra range.
Now a lot of the diff. is my low skill level and the barrel heating up. I fired 20 SMK/Lapua and 30 Privi/nny in that order in just under one hour so the barrel was getting hot, very hot. I think you can still see what you can get.
I was not expecting anything great and I did get what I paid for and my goals where small. At $32 USD for 100 174g SMK's I was just looking for a fair priced practice load. I think at $14 for 100 150g fmjbt bullets it was not a waisted effort and with a few more grains of 4064 the Privi will carry a little better past 200 yards. A small side not on the 150g bullet is that they are short and with the boat tail must be seated deep to have any neck tension. 2.950" was the OAL for the Privi VS 3.250" with the SMK.
This is just my base info and I don't recomend it. Use your own info.
No Democrat's or anti gunners where harmed in this test.
Play safe.
