A little help with a Wobbly Webley

Hey there folks! I picked up a shaved Mark VI Webley and I am wanting to give it some TLC. I have noticed that the revolver functions fine in single action, however when using the revolver in double action the cylinder will sometimes bind, or 'slip' and not rotate properly. I am going to tear it down and give it a very good cleaning, as the barrel and cylinder is quite dirty, so I have no idea when it was last cleaned... and sometimes a good cleaning is enough to get things working right again. However, I would love to hear any advice on what I might want to look for or check as far as parts that might need to be replaced and such.

Thanks for reading!

Sure I will do so soon, I am in the middle of cleaning it up, and will post something once it is back together. I am thinking the pawl might be worn and not pushing as it should. I will try to take a picture of what it looks like when the cylinder is stuck and wont turn.

When it fails to carry-up, are you saying that it is binding and you cannot manually turn the cylinder the rest of the way into battery, or that the trigger binds and won't reset?

The trigger seems to bind, and the cylinder will not turn. If I take my finger off the trigger it will return to rest and I can then pull the trigger again and the cylinder will spin. It only happens with double action when trying to pull the trigger 'briskly' as if attempting a follow up shot. If I pull the trigger slowly, it does not seem to happen as often, but will still sometimes fail to rotate the cylinder onto the next chamber, or will bind. I am thinking the arm that is used to rotate the cylinder might be worn down a bit and slipping. In single action functions perfectly each time.

As a side note, nice to see another Night lords fan. My own CSM army is Nightlords! Took a long time to get good at painting the lightning.

I doubt that its a hand/pawl problem since you say it doesn't happen in single action. I would look at wear and interference between the hammer latch and trigger. The hammer latch is what actually pushes the hammer back and provides a sear surface in DA fire.

The hand/ratchet operation is identical between firing modes.

Good to know, I had cleaned that out last night, the spring on the hammer was gunked up did not fully.. well spring. After I cleaned it up it moved much better. Once back together I will see if that is what caused so much trouble, or if it is time for a new hand.
