It seems that i am having a hard time with the lee safety prime system on my new lee classic turret press. first problem comes with getting the primers into the primer lever out of the safety prime system. a buddy of mine told me i might want to try and shim the whole safety prime system up a bit with a washer...havent got around to trying that yet but its on the to-do list. my real concern however is that when i do finally get a primer in the primer lever, when i go to seat the primer in the empty case, its get hung up on the bottom of the shell holder, so i have to manually move the primer lever into place so it can seat into the de-primed case. im new to the whole reloading scene, and this is my first press, so i was hoping you guys might have some advice. i thought of taking the shell holder out (it is a lee shell holder btw) and sanding down the bottom of it a bit and see what that does. is there any reason i shouldnt do that? also i might want to add i am using Federal small pistol primers to reload 9mm. this seems to be a really nice press, but so far i am just not impressed with the safety prime system. thanks for the help
