This e-mail came from my daughter today. Woody is a friend of my daughter and has been to my house several times. By the way, he was in the same High School graduating class as the first Marine casualty from the State of Tennessee.

Janey, Woody's Mom, forwarded this to the college and young adult class at Church:

I just got this prayer request from Woody. I will forward it to you so you will know how to pray. This affects all our guys so please intercede for them. They must be so disheartened to think the enemy will be let go after losing so many lives, not to mention the danger they are to their lives to be set free to do more evil. Please pray for the families as well. This is not news to God, and He will know what needs to be done and how to do it!!
Thank you for standing with us and being willing to pray. I know God is hearing. Love, Janey

MOM,

Forward this to the peeps in the college class.

Last night we the Marines got some bad news. The politicians want the Marines to pull out of Fallujah. This isn’t a retreat, Marines don’t retreat. The Iraqi government wants the Iraqi military to take over and handle its own. So one by one every Marine is pulling out. Thing is, we have all the bad guys cornered in the gauntlet. Once the Iraqis take over, the gauntlet will reopen and set the beasts free. We, of course, want to finish it while we have them backed into the corner, but the politicians won’t let us. This means hundreds of men died for something they're just going to let the Iraqis take over .The Iraqi army sucks. I can tell you first hand. They retreated when the fighting began. So what on earth is going to happen when we let them in Fallajuh?
Well I hope our brothers didn’t die in vain and the Iraqis finish the job. Right now I’m very bitter and ticked off as you can imagine.
Please pray for us as they open the gauntlet up and reverse all the hard work the Marines have done. Love you guys!

Yeah, civilian control of the military can be frustrating. Civilian authority over the uniformed forces is fine, but when the pols start thinking they understand military strategy and tactics, well...just jump into the handbasket, 'cause you know where things are going. GRRR. :banghead:

If the Harvard suits start running this war like they did in Vietnam then I will be out on the streets to stop it and bring our guys home. Wars are fought by warriors not Harvard armchair generals. :fire:

I hate to say it but Fallujah makes me smell fish sauce.

The war on islamofascist terrormongers teaches me on thing: When confronted with a problem or an opportunity, exploit it then and there.

--Afganistan we had large numbers of AQ goons cornered including OBL and evidently let them escape through Pakistan.
--Spain had its eyes on AQ types yet failed to arrest them
--How many AQ goons have been in custody, let go, then killed?
--Now we have a knot of goons cornered in Fallujah. Are we will not destroy them.

If they get away they will be back and they will kill again. I understand the need to avoid glassing a city, but I also am beginning to think our political types are going wobbly. If we corner these goons, they must die on the spot or they will kill some of us later.

I hope an pray Bush slaps the state department around and puts them in their place. I'm getting edgy.
