A "military-grade" knife?

"Authorities said the man 'was willing to 'violently attack others' who tried to help the murder victim. "
The above quote is from the article. Too bad the victim or one of the "others" didn't put a couple of "military-grade" 9mm bullets in the guy.

I am sure it was a gun free zone. I note in another story (which did not mention the type of knife) that Seattle Fire Department had been called to the complex 57 times since January. A very sad story that is the consequence of untreated mental illness, not the nature or type of the instrument.

To be honest, if I were still in or were going back in, as a knife person, the first thing I would do with a military-grade knife is to turn it back in, get it off my hand receipt, and use something better of my own.
If you were allowed to.

I ran across these knives today while looking for some other stuff. My Father was in the Army 100th Infantry Division in WWII and this Marbles was his knife from that time. He told me that he asked his Mother to send it to him. Sometime in the 1960's he bought this Buck for a hunting knife.

And so it begins. As expected, the media is all-in on the first round of anti-knife moves ...

Big deal about a Ka-Bar used in a Seattle homicide. Of course, it's already illegal to carry a blade longer than 3.5" in Seattle.

Someone may have already mentioned this, but London is seriously cracking down on knives. Buddy of mine who lives there says they're going to mandate flat/blunt tips on kitchen knives in addition to most knife possession outside the home being already illegal.

There's a serious sub-culture there in the UK that likes to drink and fight... If heavy hobnailed boots aren't your weapon of choice a knife is the alternative in that world.... Guns aren't exactly common so young'uns and others who ought to know better use blades...

You won't hear me advocating more laws - but I can see what they're trying to cope with... Doubt any laws will change a cultural problem - but that never stops "government" from trying...

They and young folks in other countries train en mass for soccer season. And not for playing ball....

Here are a few military grade.

The top photo is a Civil War Remington Zouave bayonet, about short sword length, and a WWII Navy Mk. 1 by PAL.

The following photos are of a German military grade knife, a WWII bring-back paratrooper out the front gravity knife.
