For someone who never thought they'd reload 9mm, I seem to have taken to it. I posted not long ago that I was pretty pleased with myself for putting up 1k rounds of my favorite 115g FMJ plinking load. So, I actually was able to get out to the range this morning, and what a nice day for it. Perfect weather, hardly anyone else out there. I must have burned thru 500 rounds this morning between 9mm, 38, and some 22lr. Somehow, after unloading back home and putting the ammo away, I now have 1100 FMJ rounds in the safe. Thinking perhaps I had a loaves and fishes type miracle on my hands, I realized I must have started the day with a few boxes still in my range bag from the last trip a couple of months ago. The lack of divine intervention notwithstanding, still not too shabby to have a beautiful day of shooting, and more ammo on hand then when I started:D

I still find reloads I didn’t know I had. 2 weeks ago I found 3 boxes of 45/70 cast and 2 boxes of 10mm. Pretty good find.

My best advice for a new reloader who will load in bulk. Once you find your load, buy ammo cans and label them. Don’t just store boxes and throw them on a shelf.

Sounds like a great day at the range! I had one, too. Found a couple boxes of 9mm dated in 2016, 109gr. Lead TC w/3.5gr. Red Dot. Threw them in my bag along with the FEG "Hi-Power" and 5 mags, Heritage single action with some CCI Longs and PMC/Predator magnums, dropped my wife off for her spa day and went to the indoor range. The 9mm were a little smoky thanks to the wax lube but not too bad at all. I think I still have a few hundred of those bullets hanging around (somewhere). Surprising thing is the PMC's were smokier than my handloads, and they're jacketed. Not sure what kind of powder PMC was using then but it's dirty stuff. Oh well, cleaning guns is half the fun of shooting. ;)
