9mm Reloading

I like 231 with a 115 Plated RN. Loaded thousands of them. Also used Universal, CFE Pistol, Longshot. All worked well.
Recently ordered a pound each of N320, ZIP, True Blue and Silhouette just to try out different powders. Also recently tried Bullseye and Unique in 9mm.

I have so much powder on hand I need to use up what I have already. And I have used Bullseye for several decades to reload 9mm rounds. Its works fine for me. I'm glad you were able to find powder. I did want to try some of the Shooters World (Lovex) powders. But everytime I check Midsouth they are out of stock on the Clean Shot powder in the 5 pound jugs.

I just looked and they do have the one pound jugs in stock now. Hummm...

But irrespective of my choice you can expect a 10 week delay. He is over his head in back orders.. see his notations on his website.

I figured if I didn't get the discount code it wasn't a big deal. Five bucks isn't going to have an effect on my life one way or the other. And I was looking on their site last night and saw the 10 week delay. No big deal. It will be here when it gets here. And the last order was supposed to take a couple of weeks to ship but they shipped it in less than a week. I am sure glad the folks here told me about them. They sent some of their cards with my order and I have been passing them around to other reloaders.

Midway has had all of the Shooters World powders in stock quite often over the past month. I don't know why, buy Midway has been getting stuff in stock all the time, more often than other retailers it seems.

I ordered when RMR was 8 weeks backorder. Shortly thereafter became 10 weeks. I got my 1K of 9mm in 9 weeks. Seems like RMR is forecasting their backorder time accurately.
Unless you are totally out, the RMR bullets I received look to be of good quality.

Thanks for that. I have a friend I usually split powder orders with and I will see if he is up for making an order. I admit I never looked at Midway for the powders. It was just a fluke I found them at Midsouth but liked what I read about them. And a few here have commented on them. Looking at their data again it looks look Autopistol and Clean shot would be the two I would like to try first.

I haven't opened the bag of 1,000 9mm HPs I ordered yet. But I'm about to and use 200 of them. So far I have been loading Remington 115gr hollow points. And I may go ahead and load at least 100 Lee 124gr lead bullets I have cast up on hand now. But no, I'm not out of bullets yet. And the weather is supposed to cool off around here so I may do a casting run. I have several new bullet molds I want to try out. One is a trunciated cone 140gr Lee tumble lube that should work for 9mm and 38 special. I have a sizer for both calibers.

i do load my xtp 115s a little short 1.065 to prevent feed issues...be very careful of setback
Yeah your right, I did. I had 231 on the brain.

Here is the titegroup load data from Hodgdon's
115grGrs.
Vel. (ft/s)
Pressure
Hodgdon
Titegroup
0.355"
1.125"
4.5
1,135

4.8
1,158
30,500 CUP

Starting load is 4.5gr and you said your loading 4.1 gr as close to max according to Hornady's manual. That is why I was wondering.
He must be using a really short OAL.
hornady shows col as 1.075 i load to 1.065 i used hornady because i was using the xtp i wasnt sure how close the gold dot bullet that hodgdon data used was to my xtp

If you are looking to try another powder, get a jug of BE-86 and pair it with any RMR 124/125 grain bullet. Endless happiness will be yours.

I would love to try some BE-86 but there is none to be had. I was on the Midsouth Shooters Supply site yesterday and they had some of the Shooters World Clean shot in stock in 1lb and 5lb cans. Three hours later I decided I would order a 5lb jug of powder. Nope. Sold out. And so were all the 1lb cans of powder. Right now if you snooze ya lose and I sure did.:fire:

Rumors are Clean Shot is the same as AA#2, I don't know this for a fact, but if you are after 1100-1150 I would be looking for a slower powder if you want to try a new one.
Lots of good ones out there, some are probably available.
Some choices might be WSF (my favorite with 124s), BE86, CFE-P, AA#5, Silhouette etc.
While I don't care for the way Unique meters it shot well for me when I used it. IF W231 does not work out for you I would try Unique since you have some.

Thanks for that, I know Hodgdon is saying 1.125 and that's why I figured you were loading a lot shorter than that, especially with XTPs.
I agree with DudeDogs choices of powder too. especially BE-86 and WST for 124 gr.

But for 115gr JHP, I have had the best luck with velocity/accuracy with 231 but I haven't tried them all.
