I think I am going to load a batch of 9mm ammo. I have mainly 115gr bullets on hand. I have Remington FMJ and Remington 115gr hollow points and some RMR 115gr hollow points.

My normal 115gr load is 5grs of Bullseye powder and a standard primer either a CCI 500 or Winchester WSP primer. All in mixed cases. I have on hand these powders. Accurate #2, Bullseye, Unique, 231 and Titegroup.

Anyone have a favorite load for any of those powders you would care to share? I'm not looking for maximum loads just a good cycle anything load in the 1100-1150fps range.

I have to "guess" you have at least one book? If not get at least one if not a couple. Then if anyone shares load data check the books first. This can be dangerous to take advice off the open net. Since I have to guess you are not trying to make bench rest accurate ammo for a pistol all that matters is that the stuff works. 231 has long been my go to powder but others will of course work fine. Just do not take load data without making sure with a manual and enjoy.

With 115 gr bullets I prefer 231 at 4.9 gr with an OAL of 1.10 for Truncated cone hollowpoints (XTPs) and JHP round nose (RMR MPRs).
That's close to Maximum load but the 115gr bullets TC JHPs(XTPs) and round nose (RMR MPRs)(Speer Gold Dots) don't have much recoil but are really accurate for me.
With FMJ round nose bullets, I load out to 1.125" or longer depending on what my barrel will accept with the plunk test.

I use Titegroup powder for 124 gr bullets only, not 115gr. I load 124 gr at 4.1 gr @ the same 1.10 OAL with truncated JHPs and 1.125 with round nose(FMJs).
I can go out to 1.135 with these but they won't fit all my 9mms so I stick with the 1.125 OAL with them.
Hope this helps some.

Thanks tightgroup tiger. That’s helpful.

Yes Alex I have 5 books and several of the pamphlets that they used to give out free at the gunshop. I just wanted to see what everyone else was loading using those powders I listed. And I will cross check any recommended loads. I have been loading for over 40 years with never an issue.

If you have the primers and the time try all of them and see what you gun likes.
(AA#2 may be a little fast to get the vels you are after)
No telling what YOUR gun will like.
Sometimes if I am lucky I can get some of mine to sort of agree:)
If you wanted to cut down the powders to try I would go with the 2 slower burn speed ones W231 and Unique since you are looking for 1150.
Unique meters poorly for me but seemed to shoot well when I used it.
If you only want to try one I would say W231.

Side note, all my 9mms seem to prefer 124s to 115s.

This is what I use as well, 4.9 gr HP38 with OAL of 1.1 on 115gr projectiles

I put about 700 rounds through various guns with titegroup on 115s and it was awful between the fouling and stovepiping.

Titegroup is all I've ever use for 9mm, with 124 and 147 grain bullets. Now I'm using a 100 grain bullet with 4.1 grains of N320, which makes a really light load. I shoot all mine out of Glocks.

i run 4 gr tg with 115 xtp which is very close to max per hornady data definitely work up but functions fine in all my 9mm bottom feeders dont have a chrono but data seems in the velocity ballpark you seek

At this point I have 500 cases primed. I just have to decide on the powder to use. I don’t think I have as many cases as I thought. It looks like I only have about 2500 cases left. I thought I had around 4000. I may need to make another order to RMR for bullets. Are they still using the same discount code?

If I order more bullets I am getting the 125gr bullets this time. My Camp Carbine likes that bullet weight.

Yes. I just used it seconds ago for an order of 38 special.

I loaded up some Berrys Plated RN 115gr, using 4.2gr titegroup, Fed Sp primers, CBC brass, OAL-1.120. Chronographed them today (well yesterday now) and was pleased with great performance. FPS- 1151 to 1186, had one 1202. Then Sierra 115gr JHP using 4.5gr titegroup, Fed sp primers and Win brass, OAL-1.055 and they were moving pretty good. FPS-1241, 1258, 1280. Good luck!

Last I used 115gr bullets from my notes was 2017.

8/31/17

: Xtreme 115 grain hollow point.

1.090 O.A.L. with 4.2 grains of titegroup.
Bullet and profile are different but powder charge reference may help your determinations.
My notes say "very accurate shooter but moving all 9mm to rmr as preferred vendor"

Well, he's loading TG (which I assume is titegroup) and you referenced W231... :)

Yeah your right, I did. I had 231 on the brain.

Here is the titegroup load data from Hodgdon's

Starting load is 4.5gr and you said your loading 4.1 gr as close to max according to Hornady's manual. That is why I was wondering.
He must be using a really short OAL.

I have on hand these powders. Accurate #2, Bullseye, Unique, 231 and Titegroup.
Of those powders I’ve loaded TG, 231 and AA2. Since you profess to be an experienced reloader, I wouldn’t hesitate to try TG at least followed by 231. For 115gr bullets, I followed Hodgdon online data and trying to make minor PF I found I needed mid-range loads for lead or plated, and close to max for jacketed. While AA2 meters well, I didn’t find my gun preferred it, and there were several other powders I’ve chosen. Good luck!

Thanks lordpaxman. I have already loaded 200 rounds with 231 and will just stick to that load for this run. I have 300 more cases to load and will then consider some lead bullet loads.

I like 231 with a 115 Plated RN. Loaded thousands of them. Also used Universal, CFE Pistol, Longshot. All worked well.
Recently ordered a pound each of N320, ZIP, True Blue and Silhouette just to try out different powders. Also recently tried Bullseye and Unique in 9mm.

I may need to make another order to RMR for bullets. Are they still using the same discount code?

For what it is worth I will not use the discount code at RMR. As others here have convinced me, the small discount that I get does not exceed the need for Jake to survive, thrive and continue to give us good service.

But irrespective of my choice you can expect a 10 week delay. He is over his head in back orders.. see his notations on his website.
