I was looking for a flint lock, or a Kentuckey rifle. Ended up with the KY.
She is a percussion in .45 cal. What should I be starting out with for a powder charge with prb's? GOEX only not a sub. Thanks, and a big thanks to the guys on the flint lock search. THR rules!!!!!!!!

Why do you mention flintlock and Kentucky rifle as exclusive to each other? A Kentucky rifle can be either flint or percussion lock.

I have a .45 carbine with a favored target load as low as 38 - 40 grains of Pyrodex P/fffg.
It depends on the barrel twist rate and what the gun likes.
Loading more powder produces more fouling.

Thanks for pointing that out Junkman, I was aware of that though. Just as many others can be had in either configuration. The particular KY I was looking at was percussion, thats all.
