Here's a link to the ARMSCOR/RIA owners forum at 1911.org:

I saw there was a 4 year old thread recently re-opened that got locked, so I thought I'd start a new one.
I started shooting 1911's in the 1970's, and have had a few from different makers-including USGI WWII stuff-off and on ever since. I have 2 of them now, both made by ARMSCOR-mine are Charles Daly, basically the same as the RIA pistols with different sights, finish and grips. (Daly was the importer and is out of business as of January 2010.)
I carry either one of these fine pistols, have not had any trouble at all that was not due to my own tinkering in one case and a bad recoil spring in the other.
I own 1 of the CD EFS Tactical models and one ECS Compact version, both excellent shooters, both made in 2003. I carry the Compact mostly, sometimes the full size version, and I love shooting them - they are very accurate.
I use USGI/Colt mags for the full size, MecGar's 6 rounders for the Compact.
The full size has a few "custom" parts-it was already a little modified when I bought it. I put in a solid trigger to replace the adjustable one, and changed the mainspring and grips, added real Novak sights to replace the factory Novaks that were damaged. The Compact is stock except for a new recoil spring.
I plan on keeping them till I'm dead, and if I could take them along after that, I would.
