A few weeks ago when my dad showed a sudden interest in my gun collection I suspected that something gun related might end up under the Christmas tree this year.
But when I went over to my folks place this morning I practically went into shock. I never expected anything like this.
A pair of nickel S&Ws with real pearl grips. A model 36 and a 14-4.
Finish on the 14-4 is not original, but so nicely done that it would be hard to tell if the hammer and trigger had not been gold plated.

I'm not normally one to love nickle, but those are some pretty smiths. Much congratulations and a little jealousy go your way.

Gotta love a father who is in touch with his kids no matter their age.

Happy New Year and to you dad as well!

What a Dad to give his son a pair of great, no, spectacular .38s. Puts a smile on a fellers face.

Make sure to take your Dad shooting with them ladies a time or two.

Nice looking revolvers you got there.

That nickel with gold trigger and hammer must have been a popular modification at some time. There was a Combat Masterpiece, with a 4" barrel, at my LGS recently. It didn't have pearl grips though. I looked at it several times, and thought about it, but passed on it. About the time I got interested in it, they sold it just before Christmas.

A wonderful gift from obviously a wonderful dad. The grips are unfortunately not real pearl. Those are J-Scott grips which were fairly popular forty years ago. But the revolvers are real peaches. Enjoy them.
