I was visiting a fellow from church this morning who is a fellow gun enthusiast. Four or five years back we went to the range together and I shot his Smith 4" 66 and commented on it's silky smooth DA trigger - even better than my model 15. A couple years ago when Sig did their "cash for clunkers" deal, he thought about shipping it to them for $200. I told him before he did that, let me buy it off of him a month at a time. He said he would keep that in mind.

Right before Christmas he told me to stop by one afternoon in early January. Today was the day. As we were talking, he moved a newspaper and there lay the Smith. He said, "Merry Christmas a little late." And with a handshake and a huge word of thanks to him, I am the proud owner of a 4" 66-1 and a pair of speedloaders. The rubber Pachmayr presentation grips don't quite fit to the backstrap, so I'm thinking a set of Ahrends grips might need to be ordered - but, hey! - I'm not complaining one bit. Dryfiring it, it still has a silky smooth trigger. The finish is a bit dull, but some elbow grease and Flitz should have it shiny very soon.

Gonna have to make a pit stop at the bottle shop for this ol' boy's birthday, I think.

Q

What church do you attend?

I'm needing a few more revolvers.;)

Congratulations! You have a nice weapon.

If I might suggest something......... don't use Flitz! Get some "Mother's Mag Cleaner" at the auto parts store, will do a better job. I've used Mother's on an S&W 629, and my SP 101 Ruger .357, this stuff does a lot better job, not as gritty, makes and does a smoother job of cleaning and shining. YMMV
