So for you guys who have had a Mojo peep sight on your Mosin how is it?
Of course it is not a real peep sight up that far but compared to the original open sights.
Is is faster to aim?
Is it easier to aim accuratly?
Does it block your veiw any less than the original open sights like when aiming at a smaller or less visible target?

Would be nice to have a peep close to the eye but I dont see how you could do that on a Mosin.

Thanks in advance!

This is a great question, I've been curious about these things too.

I've only had my 91/30 with the ATI Stock & Mojo Rear Sight out once. It is much better than my old Rear Sight because it hit 8" high in 50 yards. So....I had to use a piece on THHN Wire insulation on the top of the front sight to shoot at my usual Range. The wire insulation made the front side "wider" and this affected windage negatively. My 91/30 shoots POA at 50 yards with the Mojo, no problem. I took the insulation off the front sight.......windage was improved. It's 100X quicker and easier to see than that microscopic "nick" in the old Rear Sight. I think it makes shooting the rifle more fun.

I've had a Mojo on my M44 for a couple years now. It really helped with my accuracy at 100yds and the sight picture is night and day. I'd highly recommend it as an addition to any Mosin.

I've got the deluxe Mojo with the elevation wheel. It's great to have it shooting to point of aim at 100. I had to talk myself into it since it cost nearly as much as the rifle, but I like it. I'm really wanting to get a Timney for my '42 91/30 also.

i don't realy care for peeps that are placed that far forward. a while back i bought a ms 1903 that had a similar sight and i swaped real quick.

here is a couple pics of the setup on my finn m28-76, i would try to copy its setup instead of a mojo.

I made my own peep sight for my M/N out of an extra tangent rear sight, some JBweld and a 5mm washer:) It took 2 minutes to grind the curved tangent sight flat and then open up its notch. I then JB welded the washer to the sight and waited 24 hours to sand and paint it flat black. For less than $12 I have a fully elevation adjustable peep sight for my mosin that allows me to pick off clay pigeons at 120 yards with ease.

I've done quite a bit of shooting now with the Mojo double apertures on the M39 Finn. It's very different from a peep sight, but serves its own purposes. Target acquisition is very fast--faster than a peep for me anyway. You look through both circles to the target and let the target center itself. Peripheral vision is not blocked, and you have a wide field of view around the target.

For shooting out to 100 meters the double aperture works great. It's particularly excellent for fast shots out to 75 meters. For longer ranges the more target-shooting oriented peep sights would be better.

I have mojo's on my K98K and my father has them on his M91/30. They are a huge upgrade over the standard sights. Almost everything is improved with them. I prefer the double aperture while my father left the front post as is and only uses the back aperture. They aren't amazing target sights, but are much more accurate for me then the standard sights.
