We were running late getting to the sweet spot today to restock the hog feeders. As we pulled up to the gate, C got out to open it and I noticed several hogs about 100 yards away on the back side of the cattle trough.
We got the truck inside the gate and C grabbed his AR and I took off with the AK. Planned on a big circle to try to get at least two or three for the freezer.
In the rush to take off, we both left our sidearms in the truck. Bad joo-joo. I circled around the back of the tank and C went in a wide arc about 150 yards to my right. I startled the piggies and they went in the direction of C. I never heard a shot. About 15 minutes went by with no shot and I headed back to the truck to wait on C.
C made it back and let me know that he wouldn't be bringing his AR back out for a while. He drew down on the largest hog in the group and misfired, then couldn't get the shell out because it jammed up pretty good. The hog saw him(see bad joo-joo) with the gun still jammed. He finally got it unjammed and hit the release and the hog took off in the opposite direction.
So no meat, and we wasted about 45 minutes of daylight trying to get fresh bacon.
If that story didn't do it for ya, when we pulled out of his driveway the 3 wheeler fell of the back of the trailer into the middle of the highway. Luckily, it stayed in the X-over and didn't roll out into the lanes.
