I wonder if a disasembled version of that would pass for an "%80" lower...
Really its just a sack of metal flats with screws. I would be interesting in seeing an ATF opinion on that (funny how the ATF turned into the supreme court and gets to issue 'opinions' now).
He did't need to buy a boring head. You can bore just as accurately with a boring bar and a dial indicator on the cutting tip.
You can find 7075-T6 stock, and it is well worth the trouble to get it.
Kudos for him and all backyard tinkerers. Well done.
A girl that I'm rather close with (not a girlfriend, but potential...she loves pictures of me with guns) will be buying me a Dremel for my birthday this fall. It would be interesting indeed to get one of the Dremel tables that mount the tool and one can use it like a mini drill press or other machining tools.
If I can make a working lower out of aluminum and a Dremel, I'd be very happy indeed.
