What's wrong with my M44's sight?

Hey, I've got a Mosin Nagant Polish M44 circa 1952. The front sight looks a little funny in comparison to other M44s I've seen. Anyone know what's wrong with it? I can't get pictures up on my current comoputer but jut click here to see the picture. www.geocities.com/hutchmil/mosin.html

Funny how? Can you describe it, in comparison to what you expect?

That website wasn't too useful. But, the front site being funny looking... Does the bottom of the site hang over where it mounts to the block on the barrel? If so, you need the smaller front site. There are two sizes, large and small. I believe the larger one was used on later Mosin's. But I could be totally wrong too.

Jubu07 is right. The rifle has the wrong size sight fixed on it. The base is the wide style, and the hood assembly is the narrow type.
